V4.0.0 latest
- NewSports Timer has been rebuilt for modern Android. The app is now built with Android Studio and targets Android 17 (API 37). The previous version was still built with Eclipse from 2015.
- NewAll premium features are free for everyone now. In-app purchases have been removed completely, so "Keep all settings and preset when closing the application" no longer has to be bought.
- NewPicking music now uses the file picker of Android itself. You can choose a single track or a whole folder, wherever the music is kept: on the phone, on an SD-card or in a cloud drive.
- improvementThe app does not ask for access to your storage any more. Both storage permissions have been removed. The system now grants access to exactly the music you picked, and to nothing else.
- InfoThe minimum Android version is now 6.0 (Marshmallow). Android 4.x and 5.x are no longer supported.
- NewThe bar with the three buttons at the bottom is hidden while Sports Timer is running, so the whole screen belongs to the app. Swipe up from the bottom edge to bring that bar back for a moment. Hiding it is the only option: the colour of that bar is set by the phone and no app can change it, which is why it turns white on a phone in light mode.
- BugfixPortrait mode: "Total Time" was hidden behind the camera cut-out of newer phones. The title now sits just below it, while the save and settings buttons stay at the very top. In landscape mode nothing moves, so no screen height is lost.
- BugfixSettings menu: on newer phones the first two entries ("Settings" and "Feedback") disappeared behind the status bar and the title.
- BugfixMain screen: the labels Start / Stop / Edit / Music / Sound were pushed away by the navigation bar at the bottom.
- BugfixAccented characters were shown as garbage in a few texts.
- BugfixThe backup file "timer_presets.tmr" could not be written since Android 10 and failed silently at every start. It is now kept in the folder of the app itself.
- BugfixA picked track could get lost when Android closed the app while the file picker was still open. The choice is kept now and is there again when you open the music screen.
- improvementInternal: the old Android support library has been replaced by AndroidX, and the themes have been reduced to a single set.

- NewSkip button added. All timers blocks can be skipped by pressing this button. It will jump to the next timer block. This feature can be enabled/disabled in the settings.
- NewStopwatch (counting up) block added: Now it's possible to add an upcounter. With the new "skip"-feature, it can be used as stopwatch.
- NewBeeps 3,2,1 are added. The sound and the volume can be changed in the settings.
- NewCounting value changed: Counting 5 sec. will now be displayed as: 5-4-3-2-1 (before it was 4-3-2-1-0)
